Fíonta Sessions: Fonteva Finance - All About the Item Record

Let’s face it, Finance is a mystery to most of us. And often when implementing new CRM/AMS systems, the primary focus is on getting memberships or donations into the system – meaning that the Finance team gets left out of the loop.

Because Fonteva also serves as the Subledger for your organization, it’s critical that the Finance team be in the know as to how Fonteva is generating journal entries for all the money coming into your organization.

So this series is for all the Finance team reps that need to know how to get the data they need from Fonteva to do their jobs: posting to the financial system, reconciling with the Financial system, and everyone’s favorite, prepping for and passing the annual audit.

In the third of six sessions, we’ll do a deep dive into the Item Record. In a nutshell: if you want to sell it to someone, you have to have an Item record for it. Items can be assigned to Item classes, which are just groups of Items, to make finding a specific Item easier. An Item class can make creating new Items easier too, as settings from the assigned Item Class will flow down to the new Item record before you save it. Read our blog post about the Item Record in preparation and come with questions - we're here for you!
